4. I shall be glad to be informed whether the arrangement reported in your despatch No.13
of 12th January 1892, for associa- ting Mr Lockhart with Dr Eitel and Dr Wright in the examinationsefal Victoria College has worked satis- factorily. Another arrangement is
suggested in this Report, of Dr Eitel's,
s viz that his inspection of the College should be altogether
separated from the Head Master's
examination. On this point I shall
be glad to learn your views as also on the various suggestions, made in the 10th paragraph of the
Inspector's report, for securing
a larger attendance in the Ele-
mentary Schools.
5. The proposal to compel
by law the registration and educa-
tion of all purchased servant
girls was reported upon in Sir F. Fleming's despatch No.215 of 2nd
July 1890, and I am disposed to agree with the opinion there ex- pressed that it would not be des-
irable to attempt such legislation
at any rate until the condition
